CLIFTON – The churches of Bosque Baptist Association are distributing 2,500 New Testaments as part of Texas Hope 2010, an initiative of Texas Baptists to share the gospel with every Texan by Easter 2010.

Area congregations have distributed about 1,000 New Testaments since Jan. 1 and will continue sharing them through Easter, said Director of Missions Bill Roe.

First Baptist Church in Clifton ordered 500 New Testaments in English and another 180 in Spanish. Its youth are mapping how the congregation will distribute the New Testaments.

Roe said Bosque Association churches hope people will come to Christ through their efforts. They are excited to see how God moves through their ministry.

“They really caught a hold of it,” he said.

Jane Wilson, Texas Baptists’ youth ministry specialist, praised the work of Bosque Association.

“I became aware of the commitment of Bosque Association this past week as I visited their monthly associational meeting where 93 people were present to support the associational ministries,” Wilson said. “Bill provided an update to the group about the New Testaments, and I knew this was another great example of taking the gospel to our communities.”
