HPU students provide hurricane relief in Galveston during Spring Break

SAN ANTONIO – More than 92 students with the University of Texas at Arlington Baptist Student Ministry caravanned to San Antonio to spend six days sharing the hope of Christ by partnering with churches to host Backyard Bible Clubs in low-income neighborhoods and apartment complexes as well as serve the homeless at a soup kitchen and minister to residents at a nursing home. VANCOUVER – The world came to Vancouver, Canada for the 2010 Olympic Games and Paralympics, and in the midst of the spotlight on the performances of the world-class athletes, many in the city were also treated to acts of kindness by Christians serving with More Than Gold, a faith-based organization whose mission is to extend the radical hospitality of Christ during and after the games. The Wayland Baptist University Mission Center and Baptist Student Ministries joined for a Spring Break mission trip to Mexico to work with the indigenous Najuatl people. In all, 11 people made the trip including Mission Center Director Rick Shaw and director of the Baptist Student Ministries Donnie Brown. Full Story »

MARSHALL –The East Texas Baptist University campus may have been quiet during Spring Break with students away, but a group of students who went on mission trips made their presence known by speaking loudly for the kingdom of God. ACUNA, Mexico – Never ask God to do something that you do not expect Him to do. If you ask Him for rain, prepare your crops. If you ask Him for patience, prepare yourself for trials.
