Agriculture Commissioner Todd Staples announced a challenge to Mayors to raise awareness about the federally funded Summer Food Service Program.

According to Texas Department of Agriculture, in 2010 2.2 million free and or reduced lunches were served each day to eligible students from lower-income families and of those only 266, 895 lunches were served during the summer. Full Story »

On April 29-30, the San Antonio Baptist Association is hosting the South Texas House Church Conference at Tri-Point Conference Center at Trinity Baptist Church in San Antonio. The conference will address the “how to” of house churches.

The training will include topics such as launching a new church, connecting with your community, the church planting movement, disciple development and much more. Dr. Tony and Felicity Dale, longtime British church planters, will speak at the general sessions while additional church planters from Texas and Colorado will lead breakout sessions. Full Story »

They lead the nation in divorces, suicide, substance abuse and spousal abuse. They are correctional officers who work to keep our state safe.

Not every officer exists in this situation, but because their jobs are in such a tough environment dealing with substance abuse, violence and rebellion, it is often hard for them to turn off their reactions to what they see all day in prison once they return home. Full Story »

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ:

This is the day of worship. We had three choices. One is to go to Tokyo Baptist Church for worship. It would have been easy for John, Gary, and Rex, because it has an English service. Or going to the church where Pastor Kato is serving as an assistant pastor, which is one of the largest churches in the Japan Convention. It has an average of 200 in attendance on Sundays.
