The CLC and Texas WMU hosted a wonderful meeting Tuesday, March 27, of ministries connected to Texas Baptists working to combat human trafficking. As college students, we begin to count down the days till Spring Break from the time the semester begins in January. Spring Break brings in a time of relaxation right in the middle of our semester. When Gary, Stephen F. Austin’s Baptist Student Ministry director, started to announce possibilities for mission trips over the break, college students made the decision to beat the college stereotype and serve over the break. During Spring Break this year, my husband and I, along with eight college students from our church, traveled to South Padre Island to participate in Beach Reach. We joined about 700 college students and leaders from Baptist Students Ministries and churches in Texas and Colorado to share the hope of Christ with college students spending their spring break partying on the island, just trying to have a good time and get away from the pressures and demands of school.
