Texas Baptists Disaster Recovery hosted a leadership group of the Christian Community Development Association (CCDA) on a vision trip to the border which allowed the group to see first-hand the crisis plaguing the unaccompanied minors and family units along the U.S. Border in McAllen, Texas. The group witnessed how God is at work in the midst of the crisis along the border.

Loving Eagle Pass is well underway

On Sunday, June 22, 75 pairs of hands and feet descended upon Eagle Pass, Texas to tackle 16 projects representing families recovering from the June 2013 flooding.
Eager and willing volunteers from Lawn Baptist Church (Abilene), First Baptist Church Pasadena and Oak Ridge Baptist Church – Grace House Ministry (Corpus Christi) responded to the call and are here. Outstanding work is being done in repairing roofs, hanging sheet-rock, painting, mud/muck-out, Vacation Bible School, and more as they are being the presence of Christ across Eagle Pass. Needs from disaster area apparent as school starts

The pastors in Eagle Pass are intent on helping families recover from the recent flooding in Eagle Pass and Piedras Negras. Their immediate need is to supply families with needed items like household goods, furniture, bedding, school supplies & back packs to replace items that were lost in the flood. Eagle Pass is also in need of volunteers to help replace sheet rock and reconstruct homes that were damaged by the flooding.
