“And this is the confidence that we have toward him that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us. And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.” 1 John 5:14-15

I had been praying this verse over this past week as many obstacles advanced back to back on us. We faced a huge shortage in our food pantry, lack of volunteers, and health inspector coming to check our facility.

Christ has answered the many petitions so clearly showing that it was his handy work. Our food should not have lasted the whole week for pantry but the food was stretched and every individual that walked through our doors was able to receive food. Though we were short of volunteers, all of the staff and summer missionaries were able to complete the tasks needed daily. I can account personally that every day I felt so rested and full of strength even though I may not have received the adequate amount of sleep or preparation for tasks that each day held.

Passing the health inspection was definitely a reassurance of His promises in His word and seeing Him answer our petitions. The last time the facility had a health inspection the man who came to inspect the facility was very bitter and angry and it felt like he was looking for any reason to write up the facility. This time the same man came, but it was like he was a completely different man. It seemed like he had been transformed! Expressing the extreme opposite of his last personality, he showed gentleness, kindness and offered counsel to what licenses we need and what we do not need. My advisor was able to have great conversation with him and even shared the Gospel with this man! He was very interested in why we did what we did and wanted to donate books for our teen’s club!

Christ be lifted high! GOD IS GOOD!
