Personal Finances Worksheet
These worksheets have been designed to be used with the “10-70-20 Plan” as developed and taught by the Stewardship Team of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. For a thorough explanation of the plan, see “Financial Truth: Guiding Principles from God’s Word” or “Maintaining the Master’s Money.”
Brochures and Bulletin Inserts
Teaching stewardship is an ongoing process that requires numerous methods. Providing printed reminders can be an important tool to accomplish this task. Using brochures and bulletin inserts that give short, insightful messages will encourage your church members to think about the stewardship implications of their daily actions. These brochures and bulletin inserts are colorful and impactful. They deal with a wide range of stewardship issues like tithing, saving and spending, as well as attitudes. They can also be used as mailers to church members or as handouts to guests. We also offer “Video Tracts” that are short (30 to 60 seconds) PowerPoint presentations that can be used in a variety of settings.
See Bible study information under Church Finances section.
Helping individuals and families with their personal finances is an important ministry that is often overlooked by the church. We teach people to give, but seldom do we offer help in managing money so they will be able to give generously. “Managing the Master’s Money (a money management seminar) is available.
Financial Assistance for Ministry Students
In recognition of the divine call felt by those who minister, the BGCT provides financial assistance to Baptist students in Texas Baptist schools who are preparing for careers in church ministry. Various levels of assistance are available to students enrolled in accredited certificate, undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate programs that have been endorsed by the convention. Application for all BGCT financial assistance is made directly through the financial aid office of affiliated BGCT universities and seminaries.
