Texas Baptist Disaster Recovery is mobilizing volunteers to Shawnee and Moore, OK, an area devastated by tornadoes in May 2013. We are partnering with several faith-based, local organizations for volunteer opportunities to do clean up, building, home repair, community beautification, etc.

Volunteer Opportunities Provided by: Serve Moore, an organization of churches in the Moore, Norman and Shawnee areas; and Church of the Harvest in Oklahoma City

Dates: March 10-15 or March 17-22, 2014 (flexible; groups are welcome to come anytime between these dates)

Who: All ages (please provide 1 adult for every 5 children, 17 and under)

Cost: Transportation, room & board (Church of the Harvest costs $25 per person, per night for housing and volunteering leadership. Click here for their housing policy. Additional options are available, call Marla Bearden for details)

What we will be doing: Rebuilding, occasional demolition, community beautification, renewal projects

How to Sign up:

  • Click the “GO” button below and fill out the TBDR registration form.
  • Once we have your group’s registration info, we’ll be able to direct you toward your best service project, housing, and food options. We will work with you to find your best fit, so contact us as soon as you can!
  • Fill out and print the BGCT Liability Waiver form, and deliver it to a Texas Baptist Disaster Recovery representative upon your arrival (minors must have a parent sign for them).
