Rationale

Ministers in Texas churches come from rich and diverse educational backgrounds. Some have formal ministry training and others have learned through on-the-job experience. Some have been called to ministry after preparing for, or working in, other vocational fields. Others serve in multiple vocations as they serve the church. The Certificate in Ministry is designed to offer entry-level study to both vocational and lay ministers who desire additional ministry education.

Description

Consists of 18 one-hour entry-level ministry courses that can terminate with the awarding of certificate or transfer to an associate or bachelors degree program. Courses are usually offered in off-campus settings in cooperation with Baptist associations.
