The second course of the Western Heritage Study program at Dallas Baptist University will be taught at the mini-semester March 12-16. The course is Cowboy Church Ethics and will be taught by Sonny Spurger.

On Saturday, March 24, Western Heritage Ministry of Texas Baptist will sponsor the First Texas Cowboy Church Evangelism Rally. This Rally will be at the Resistol Arena at the Mesquite Rodeo fro, 9:00 p.m. till 3:30 p.m. Pastors from Cowboy Churches will be bringing testimonies on Evangelism and Evangelist Ronnie Hill will bring the closing message. Music will be provided by bands from Cowboy Churches and a special concert by Don Edwards.

There will be an outreach event in South Dallas at the Buffalo Soldiers arena on March 31 from 11:30 a.m. till 3:30 p.m. Hamburgers will be provided and Music from the Bar None Cowboy Church from Tatum and a message from Charles Thomas, pastor of Northeast Cowboy Church in Hawkins. Following the worship service the Buffalo Soldiers will sponsor a Play Day Event in the arena. The Buffalo Soldiers Arena is located at Loop 12 & Hwy 310. Take the Loop 12 exit off Interstate 45.

The AFCC Ranch House School will be conducted at the Cowboy Fellowship of Atascosa County in Jourdanton on Saturday, April 28 from 9:30 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. There is no charge and lunch will be furnished.

Target Audience

  • People who enjoy Western Wear attire
  • John Wayne and Cowboy Music enthusiasts who are energized and inspired by the tunes and lyrics of country music
  • The Working Cowboy, who is becoming a rarity, though is still found in ranching country PRCA Cowboy Personalities, though a relatively small percentage of the Western Population, are the “role model”
  • The Arena Cowboy who is sweeping across America and has done much to revive the Cowboy mystique.

How to get involved

  • Pray that the Lord will turn the hearts of sponsor churches, church planting pastors and associational leaders to move swiftly in planting these churches.
  • Give to the Mary Hill Davis Offering for State Missions. It costs approximately $35,000 to start and develop a new Western Heritage church in Texas.
  • Find someone in your church who has a Western Heritage background and encourage them to attend TFCC School for Cowboy Church Planting. These schools meet 4 times a year.
