Karyn Henley is an award-winning author and educator and has been a children's entertainer and popular speaker around the U.S. and internationally. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Writing for Children and Young Adults and has written and published over 100 titles, most recently novels for young adults. Her other works include picture books, middle grade nonfiction, early readers, activity books, preschool musicals, parent-teacher guides, magazine columns and articles, and curricula for preschool and elementary children. She has also written, recorded, and performed songs for children worldwide. She is best known for writing the original The Beginner's Bible, which sold over five million copies and was translated into 17 languages.
A graduate of Abilene Christian University (BSEd), Karyn received a Master's of Fine Arts degree in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts in 2004. She lives in Nashville, Tennessee.

Childhood Ministry Certification Program
Participants may substitute up to TWO certification program classes at the Childhood and Family Ministry Summit. Classes which may be substituted are:
- Guidance in the Classroom
- Principles of Teaching/Choosing Curriculum
- Special Needs Ministry
For each class that will be substituted, the participant must attend 4 breakout sessions from specific topics and finish the assignments which are required for that class. For example, you are going to substitute breakouts in Special Needs instead of attending the Special Needs Class, you will:
- Inform Diane Lane you are substituting the breakouts for the Special Needs Ministry class
- Attend any four of the breakouts dealing with Special Needs Ministry and have your certificate (in program) stamped.
- Complete the assignments that are associated with the Special Needs class.
- Turn in the assignments and certificate (back of program) to Diane Lane or Sarah Johnson.
