Fiesta Ring

November 6-7, 2015

Texas Baptist Handbell Festivals offer an opportunity for youth and adult bell choirs from around the state to come together in a mass choir setting. Emphasis is placed on music preparation, skill development and the use of handbells in ministry and worship. The festival concludes on Saturday afternoon with a public concert featuring massed ringing.

Shearer Hills Baptist Church is located at 12615 San Pedro Road in North Central San Antonio. The church campus on San Pedro (also known as Hwy 281) is located between Nakoma and Bitters, more specifically between Interpark Parkway and North Loop Road on the West side of 281.

Festival Clinician

Tammy Waldrop

Tammy Waldrop is a graduate of Baylor University with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Music Theory with an emphasis in Composition. Tammy has been writing and arranging for handbells and vocal choirs since 1980, placing over 350+ publications with 19 publishers. She has held music editor positions at Word music, Ring Out! Press, and Alfred Music Publishing and has served numerous churches in various denominations. She is a frequent clinician/director for workshops, music weeks and festivals across the country. She is currently Musical Director for the Community Handbell Ensemble, Strikepoint of Texas.

Tammy enjoys vegetable and herb gardening and writing children’s fiction. She resides in New Caney, Texas with her husband, Emanuel Hollander and two Eskie canines – Gretel and Johann Sebastian Bark (aka Hanzie).

Handbells and Tables

Each choir is responsible for furnishing their own bells, tables, covers, foam, etc. 8’ Tables are available to rent at $12 per table if desired and will be ready for your choir on arrival. Rental tables must be requested and paid for at the time of registration.

It is each director’s responsibility to order the music for their choir and bring it with them to the festival. No extra music will be available at the event.
