Speakers

JoeLaughlinJoe Loughlin is Director of Pastor/Church Connection with the Baptist General Convention of Texas, and maintains a teaching, speaking, and writing ministry called ReKindle Ministries. Before launching ReKindle Ministries in 2005, Joe spent twenty-one years in local church ministry, serving churches in Lampasas, Cedar Park and Waco, Texas.

Joe has earned degrees from Howard Payne University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Dallas Theological Seminary. He is also a graduate of Florence and Marita Littauer's CLASS (Christian Leaders, Authors and Speakers Seminar). Joe and his wife, Valerie, reside in Dallas, Texas, and have three children: Briana, Worth, and Glenna.

As Director of Pastor/Church Connection for Texas Baptists, Joe leads our efforts to provide resources for pastoral leadership development and connect pastors and congregations to other resources provided by the BGCT. The Pastor/Church Connection also offers expert guidance and extensive resources for churches in interim pastor situations and, while honoring the autonomy of the local church, facilitates connections between pastorless churches and pastors seeking a new field of ministry.

ReKindle Ministries exists to bring spiritual refreshment and renewal to Christians through biblical encouragement, inspiration, and humor. A master story teller, Joe holds his audiences spell bound with the art of creatively communicating the truths of God’s Word in practical and relevant ways. He is best known for two traits: being real and really funny. When you hear Joe speak, you might find yourself laughing one minute, crying the next, and even feeling the need to say “ouch” on occasion. Regardless, you’ll walk away feeling encouraged, refreshed, and like you’ve heard directly from God.

Joe’s ministry has refreshed hearts and spiritual lives for twenty-three years, on both the east and west coasts, in fifteen states, and on the continents of Europe and North Africa. While available to help renew the faith of any Christian, ReKindle Ministries specializes in meeting the on-going spiritual refreshment and renewal needs of those who are in the front lines of ministry: pastors, church staff ministers, religious organization and institution leaders, lay ministry leaders, ministry volunteers, and workers abroad.

Blake CoffeeBlake Coffee is the founder and Executive Director of Christian Unity Ministries. A Christian author and speaker, he is called to a ministry of training and equipping the Body of Christ toward unity. Also an attorney, his law/mediation practice has been in San Antonio, Texas, but his ministry of reconciliation and unity spans the globe.

For almost 20 years, God has given Coffee a message for the church about interpersonal relationships. In just a few years, almost completely by word-of-mouth, his self-published Bible study, Five Principles of Unity, made its way into churches all across America and around the world. Already in its third English language edition and also published in 3 other languages, over 20,000 copies have been sold and thousands of other copies given away.

Having directed Blake to a ministry of reconciliation in local churches, God has given him both a passion and a message for unity in the Body of Christ. He has worked with hundreds of congregations, both healthy and conflicted, teaching Biblical models of reconciliation. Blake is also the author of Trusting God’s People…Again(VMI Publishers, 2007) and One Body: Experiencing Unity in the Church (Texas Baptist Leadership Center, 1999–published both as a book and a video seminar).

Coffee is a 1982 Cum Laude graduate of Texas Tech University and a 1985 graduate of the Texas Tech School of Law. A member of the National Order of Barristers, Blake then sharpened his litigation skills as a courtroom litigator with the Austin law firm of Wright & Greenhill until April, 1995.

As a part of Blake’s testimony he describes a sense of God’s call to a broader ministry. Blake left his partnership in 1995 and developed his own mediation practice. At the same time, he began to develop a ministry of congregational intervention—a ministry which has grown into what is now Christian Unity Ministries. In addition to these responsibilities, Blake still holds a position Of Counsel to the San Antonio law firm of Shelton & Valadez, P.C., but the vast majority of his time is now spent in this ministry.

Coffee is married to Kappie and they have two adult daughters. He currently serves as a deacon and Bible teacher at San Antonio’s First Baptist Church.
