Supporting missions is more than praying and expecting others to step up to the plate to do it and fund it. Being missional is personally funding missions and personally being involved in missions action.
Hope 1:8, constructed from Christ’s mandate found in Acts 1:8, is focused on enabling individuals to personally be involved in mission trips, even if it’s just to the neighbor’s house, and cooperative missions giving to reach the world beyond our circle of influence for Christ in a way that we can only do by working together.
You can be involved in Hope 1:8 when you:
Pray for Hope 1:8 as mechanism for spiritual renewal and reaching the lost
Give to Hope 1:8 through your church’s Cooperative Program and individually to the Hope 1:8 Missions Co-op. Giving the $25 or more per month does not replace giving to your local church, but does further your commitment to the cause of Christ and ensures more people are fed, clothed, engaged and hear the hope of Christ.
Be on mission with Hope 1:8 through your church, Texas Baptist partnerships or on your own by sharing the hope of Christ with those you see daily. Mission opportunities in Texas and around the world can be found at Missions Finder which maps and outlines opportunities for local and international mission trips. Information on geographical locations, people groups and customs are available through Steve.Seaberry@texasbaptists.org with the Texas Partnerships Office.
Create your own personal strategy, which I’d like to hear about at firstname.lastname@example.org.
