Church Legal Services
Churches face a variety of issues that are unique to the context of a house of worship. From child safety concerns, to property issues, employment issues, church governance and many other issues, churches are faced with a broad array of legal problems. We are dedicated to helping pastors, church administrators, lay leaders and other lean how to improve the legal health of their church.
We not only work to end hunger, but to end the cycle of poverty. This is why we support many specific ministries around the world that not only provide food and meal distribution, agriculture and livestock initiatives, clean water and sanitation, but also support micro-enterprise development and job training.
The Immigration Service and Aid Center project of the Christian Life Commission of the Baptist General Convention of Texas focuses on equipping churches and other organizations to engage the immigrant community along a continuum of ministry options.
Baptists have long recognized the importance of literacy to helping people understand God’s Word and to functioning well in society. Literacy ConneXus helps Texas Baptist churches minister to the millions in Texas who struggle with literacy needs. It provides training for English as a Second Language ministries, that can serve as a community outreach. It also encourages and equips parents to read to their children through family literacy projects.
