Colorado Flooding

Texas Baptists Prepare to Send Volunteers to Jamestown, Colorado

This past September, unprecedented flooding disrupted life for thousands of Colorado residents. Roughly 20,000 homes and businesses were damaged or completely destroyed in and around Boulder, CO. Jamestown, a small mountain community, was hit especially hard. Here many homes were washed completely away when the local creek broke over its banks. What made their recovery process even worse was the winter freeze, which made the surviving roads to Jamestown impassable and halted all rebuilding until late this spring. Most of the community was forced to spend the winter with friends and family in other cities, flooded and frozen out of their homes until the thaw comes. Those who stayed had to make do with rain cisterns for their water supply, since their plumbing systems was taken out by the flood.

How you can help:

VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED to help with mudding out, cleaning up, and rebuilding the homes damaged by the flood. We will be mobilizing volunteers to travel to Colorado to serve on these dates:
