God's perfect timing led me to Houston's 5 th Ward. During high school or college I served with various ministries but never felt a strong call to urban ministry, yet in less than a weeks time, God brought me here to Hope House. God has been moving through Houston, and I look forward to being a part of his work in this neighborhood.
Hope House seeks to bring peace and healing to the brokenness found in the lives of the families in Kashmere Gardens by spreading Christ's love. Beyond the academic and financial needs of the people here, there is a clear, deep pain. These people are hurting, and need the Gospel.
Through a Sunday service, Boy Scout troop, and upcoming after-school program, we hope to begin addressing some of these issues in the hopes of changing this area, and seeing God's shalom rest on the 5 th Ward. I will be coordinating the after-school program, helping lead the Boy Scout troop, and mentoring teens from the neighborhood.
However, I can't do this alone, and would like you to join me in praying for the families in this area. I am also seeking volunteers to dedicate their time and services. As Luke 10:2 tells us, " the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few". Lastly, I would ask you to support me financially. Help me bring God's rest to the lost and the broken of Houston's 5th Ward.
