Whatever the size, whatever the style, music and worship are vital components of every church’s ministry. We are here to encourage and to provide resources for the development of church music leadership and ministries through training events, consultations, opportunities for fellowship, and facilitation of peer interaction and spiritual support.
Our staff is available to assist music ministers, pastors and lay leaders in discovering resources or setting up consultations to help with transitioning worship in the church. Please feel free to contact either Karen Witcher or Brent Edwards with any questions or requests.
Technology for Worship
Our state training events and links to resources can help your music ministry leaders learn about the ever-changing technology available for worship. Additionally, our staff is available to help you identify resources or personnel available to help resolve your specific technology issues. Please feel free to contact either Karen Witcher or Brent Edwards with any questions or requests.
Singing Men and Women of Texas
We currently sponsor six regional chapters of Singing Men and eight chapters of Singing Women of Texas. The Singing Men of Texas membership is comprised primarily of ministers of music, but also welcomes pastors, other church or associational staff members, music faculty of colleges and universities and laymen actively involved in church music ministry. The Singing Women membership includes women who are active in church music ministry or in professional positions of church music service. Generally, each chapter meets once a month for an afternoon rehearsal and evening concert.
Texas Baptists Worship Summits, offered several times a year, create a forum for worship pastors and other leaders to discover and discuss current trends in music and worship. Each one-day, interactive event includes guest speakers, round-table discussions, music-reading sessions, networking and more.
“It’s a blessing to hear from recent college and seminary grads as well as more ‘seasoned’ pastors how churches across the state are worshiping great and almighty God! The leaders share a wealth of information, but participants also are enriched by fellowship with other ministers who share their passion for life-changing worship.”
