Our six churches have arrived safely today. Most of the groups stayed the night in Oklahoma last night and drove to Bartlesville this afternoon. From Crosswinds Community Church, FBC Nacogdoches, New Harmony Baptist Church, Eastern Heights Baptist Church, Frio Baptist Church, and Baptist Temple Church, the BOUNCE team is glad to have the participants here.
The BOUNCE staff and students are ready to serve the community of Bartlesville. Each group will have a unique project that will impact homeowners for the gospel. Some of the projects include laying tile, installing vinyl siding, roofing, painting, building wheelchair ramps, and building decks. Despite the diversity of projects, the mission of all the groups is the same: to serve people as an expression of their love for Christ.
Tomorrow evening we will be collecting a Missions Offering benefiting Texas Baptists Disaster Recovery. There have been eleven significant weather disasters since May of 2015 and this organization is helping affected cities to recovery from the events that have impacted them. BOUNCE has already mobilized around 350 people to aid with recovery efforts. Texas Baptists Disaster Recovery has begun work in San Marcos, Houston, and Dallas areas, but recovery is an ongoing process.
These BOUNCERS are ready to begin helping this community in Oklahoma. We are eager to see God move in Bartlesville this week!
Texas Baptists is a movement of God’s people to share Christ and show love by strengthening churches and ministers, engaging culture and connecting the nations to Jesus.
The ministry of the convention is made possible by giving through the Texas Baptists Cooperative Program, Mary Hill Davis Offering® for Texas Missions, Texas Baptists Worldwide and Texas Baptist Missions Foundation. Thank you for your faithful and generous support.
