Bouncers Help Rebuild the Rockport Community

by Cherish Mason on July 17, 2018 in BOUNCE

Bouncers were sent out to their work sites in Rockport, TX this morning! Aaron Austin, one of the Mission Coordinators, led the students in a commissioning prayer before the students began their first day of work.

Bethel Baptist Church experienced a few setbacks on Monday as they traveled from Illinois to Corpus Christi, TX to participate in the disaster recovery work in Rockport. Their vehicle broke down and they were taken in by a neighboring Baptist Church. After experiencing a twelve hour delay, participants from Bethel Baptist Church arrived early this morning. Running on only a few hours of sleep, the Bethel Baptist Church was up and ready to head to their work sites this morning! Bounce is thankful for this group’s commitment to disaster recovery work, and we pray that the Holy Spirit would empower them at their work sites and that they would be able to find rest this week.

Tonight during worship, students were given the opportunity to give towards the Bounce Missions Offering which will go toward the long term recovery effort in Harvey affected areas. We are thankful for all the ways that Bouncers continue to partner with Bounce Student Disaster Recovery as we continue to rebuild Harvey affected communities.

Texas Baptists is a movement of God’s people to share Christ and show love by strengthening churches and ministers, engaging culture and connecting the nations to Jesus.

The ministry of the convention is made possible by giving through the Texas Baptists Cooperative Program, Mary Hill Davis Offering® for Texas Missions, Texas Baptists Worldwide and Texas Baptist Missions Foundation. Thank you for your faithful and generous support.
