Texas A&M University-Kingsville (TAMUK) has been challenged by the "Great Commission." Our lead team came up with a great outreach to reach students that would not normally come to a BSM services. Who does not have a love for pancakes? Plus we hand them out for free.
After coming back home from Beach Reach our leaders asked themselves, "how can we bring the Beach Reach mission back to our campus?" Since the spring of 2015 we have started a new outreach that we have been starting to do at least once every month. This outreach entails at least 25 boxes of pancakes and several student volunteers. After 24/7,our Thursday night service, we go out on campus and invite students that are going out to clubs or are just bored to come sit with us and have some pancakes. Through this outreach we challenge our leaders to be intentional in sharing the Gospel and getting contact information. This outreach has helped our students connect with students we have never even met before.
In order for this outreach to take place we require the help of the lead team and various other students that attend 24/7. This group is made up of full time students that are in various time consuming majors. Our students sacrifice sleep in order to be able to reach out to these students. We are out there from 11 p.m. through 2 a.m. just serving and having gospel conversations.
One of the recent roles that we added was a prayer room. We have a hash tag specifically for this outreach #panout2015. Whenever you see this hash tag on Facebook or Twitter keep us in prayer. "The harvest is plentiful" and we have had some great conversations and seen people be soften to Christ through this ministry. I challenge your campuses to not only to go on missions, but see how you can incorporate them when you come back to your campuses.
