All twelve of our BOUNCE Teams are still hard at work. With the understanding that they will be finished with their houses tomorrow, they have continued finishing their roofs and painting their houses. Some of our staff members had the opportunity to work alongside the students and get to know them better. Some teams have even finished their smaller houses and are continuing work at another site.
Worship services have consisted of singing praises, hearing about resources, and listening to the word of God taught by Aaron. The Beatitudes come from Jesus’ most well-known sermon, the Sermon on the Mount. Tonight he spoke about those who are merciful and those who are peacemakers. Jesus says that these will be blessed; these characteristics overflow into Christ-like actions. Each service is encouraging and helps participants learn more about what scripture says.
This evening, students heard about a resource called We Are the Called. This ministry exists to aid students who think that they may be called into vocational ministry. The Ready Book is available for them to pray through a potential calling, analyzing their gifts and passions. Every person who follows Jesus is called to share the gospel and to make disciples. Some will have jobs and receive opportunities to share the good news with coworkers, and others will be called to work as leaders in the church. People have different callings, but the gospel is transformative in lives and causes them to share Christ regardless of their contexts.
Now that they have wrapped up their third day, there is one more workday ahead for our BOUNCERS. Please be praying for energy, for rest, for safety, and for good health for our students and staff!
