The Texas Baptists Center for Missional Engagement has welcomed Noe Treviño as its new director. Treviño transitioned from his prior position as director of the Missionary Adoption Program (MAP).
Treviño said he looks forward to engaging Texas Baptists churches with mission opportunities, both locally and globally, and helping them to intentionally live on mission.
“[I’m excited] to work closely with each ministry director within the center; to come alongside them and to support them in anything that they may need; to help them engage churches and missions,” said Treviño.
During his time at Texas Baptists, Treviño also served as the pastor of Coastal Bend Fellowship in Kingsville from 2009 to 2021. He also previously pastored Emmanuel Baptist Church in Alice. Treviño has a total of 36 years of experience as a bi-vocational minister.
Treviño began serving at Texas Baptists in 1999 as a contracted Church Consultant. In 2006, he came on staff full-time as a Congregational Strategist, and later as a Church Starting Strategist for South Texas. Most recently, he has served as director of the Missionary Adoption Program (MAP) since January 2021, prior to his current role.
Treviño earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Texas A&M University Kingsville and a Master of Theology from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry from Southwestern.
“Noe Treviño has been a valued Texas Baptists employee for over 20 years. He has a contagious passion for missions and evangelism, an entrepreneurial spirit that led to the creation of the Missionary Adoption Program (MAP) with over 70 adopted missionaries in 17 countries, and an amazing, winsome personality,” said Craig Christina, associate executive director of Texas Baptists.
“[Treviño] is an awesome collaborator and missionary as he leads pastors, ministers of missions and staff on trips to share the gospel around the world. Under Noe's leadership, I am confident that the best days of the Center for Missional Engagement are yet to come.”
The Texas Baptists Center for Missional Engagement exists to engage churches in corporate missions through strategic opportunities in Texas and around the world without duplicating the role of traditional mission-sending agencies. Treviño assumed his role as center director on September 16.
