Mark Moore is pastor of First Baptist Church Hallsville. Get to know his background and how you can be praying for his church during Pastor Appreciation Month.
Q: When and how did God call you to be a pastor?
A: I surrendered to the call of ministry the summer of my sophomore year of college at Baylor University in 2005. It truly has been a difficult and joyous journey that has shaped me immensely, but I’m thankful for God’s calling on my life. I’ve been blessed to be the pastor at First Baptist Church Hallsville since September of 2019 and to co-labor in building up the body of Christ with a great congregation, staff, deacons, and servants.
Q: What is one exciting thing God is doing in and/or through your church right now?
A: Despite enduring a pandemic, we have continued to advance the gospel and His mission for our church. We have a church devoted to God’s word, fellowship, remembrance of Christ's sacrifice, and prayer. The faithfulness of our church has led to fruitfulness in our body with hospitality, generosity, unity, selflessness, authentic worship, cheerful hearts, and salvation. We have been blessed to reach young families in our area and to be able to minister to our community and beyond.
Q: How can people pray for your church?
A: Please pray for God’s will to be done in our church and for us to continue to strive to look something remotely like the Acts 2 church. Pray that the Lord God would bless us indeed, enlarge our territory, that His hand would be upon us, and that He would keep us from any evil or harm.
