BOUNCE Mission Waco is drawing to a close. Our twelve teams have worked hard on ten different houses and accomplished a lot this week. From painting, to siding, to construction, to lots of roofing, our students have learned many new skills and served Christ in a tangible way. Some students have even talked about being baptized when they go back home! Overall, it’s been a great week. Despite some challenges, our BOUNCERS have persevered and had fun as well. We have heard stories of mission teams that have worked really well together, finishing tasks while building relationships. Students have also been able to have conversations with their homeowners. In so doing, they remember that they are serving real people, as God has called them, and not just fixing up a house. The homeowners and community have seen students pay money to spend a week of summer doing manual labor for the glory of God.
BOUNCE would not be possible without all those involved. Aaron Austin did an amazing job as Mission Coordinator AND Worship Speaker this week, faithfully leading and teaching from God’s Word. Mark Haveman was a great construction coordinator who was so hardworking and kind. Scott Rhodes was a wonderful Local Logistics Coordinator who ensured that our teams had lunches provided by local churches, and even had snow cones brought to the students after a hot day of work. The head of our kitchen crew, Carl, and his team served us so well; they worked long hours to feed us delicious meals with friendly faces. The BOUNCE Team is thankful for all the churches who participated and brought Team Leaders and Encouragers. Our participants have had a great experience and we are so grateful for all of BOUNCE’s local partners as well.
Thank you for your prayers! Please continue asking for safe travels home for all the students and adults who depart tomorrow. We are proud of the investment that the students made this week. It is our prayer that students continue restoring hope, rebuilding communities, and reflecting Christ where God has placed them. Hope you BOUNCE again next year!
