The Texas Baptists Legacy Award honors individuals who have made a lasting impact on Texas Baptists. This year, we honored Dick Maples, retired pastor and former associate executive director, and Dorso Maciel, longtime pastor of Primera Iglesia in Laredo.
During an executive session of the BGCT Executive Board two congregations affiliated with the BGCT were deemed to be outside of harmonious cooperation with the churches of the Convention due to their public affirmation of same-sex sexuality.
