Texas Baptist Men is preparing a response to provide disaster relief to those impacted by the destruction in the Bahamas following Hurricane Dorian. Currently, TBM partners have assessors working in the Bahamas to determine the best ways to provide aid. 

Texas Baptists and George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University recently celebrated the first graduate of the Advanced Certificate of Ministry in Children’s Ministry, a joint certification program offered by the two institutions.

On the two-year anniversary of Hurricane Harvey’s destruction of First Baptist Church of Refugio, church members and community leaders gathered to celebrate the dedication of the remodeled church building.

TBM deployed its first wave of disaster relief volunteers toward the Atlantic Coast on Sept. 3 to better respond to needs in the wake of Hurricane Dorian.

The first Light Up the Hills Regional Motorcycle Retreat will be hosted in Kerrville, TX on Sept. 13 and 14. This retreat will provide Christian riders a chance to gather together and be encouraged through a motorcycle rally approach. It is free to all participants. 

A small group of Texas Baptists stood in one of the various Baptist rehabilitation centers in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, listening as a young man passionately recounted his salvation from a life of drug addiction through his newfound faith in Jesus Christ.

In addition to providing invaluable physical help to hurting communities, this Texas Baptists ministry of junior high, high school and college-aged students is expanding to provide support to budding churches as well.

Our Texas Baptist family is heartbroken over the tragic and senseless mass shooting of this past weekend in El Paso.

A number of Texas Baptists leaders have announced in the last few months that they are transitioning roles. 

The week, which included worship, more than 30 seminars, special luncheons, and officer elections, centered around working together with fellow pastors, WMU Sisters Who Care, and AAF members. 

Texas Baptists partnered with the Hispanic Baptist Convention of Texas (Convencion Bautista Hispana de Texas) in several key ways during the Annual Meeting held at the McAllen Convention Center from June 23-25. 

On Saturday, June 22, over 220 women gathered together from across Texas to celebrate the Singing Women of Texas (SWOT) 25th anniversary with a special concert in front of a full crowd at the Sue and Frank Mayborn Performing Arts Center on University of Mary Hardin-Baylor’s campus.

Sunday, June 9 began TBM’s Disaster Relief efforts in the Dallas area after strong storms caused thousands of trees to fall on homes, property and across power lines disrupting electricity for hundreds of thousands of people.
