Big Ministry in Small Towns Summit

These plenary sessions are designed to encourage the attendees as well as allow them to engage in mindful discussion and pray with one another.
 

Session One - Seeing the Community Through Jesus’ Eyes - Dr. Ira Antoine 

This interactive session will shift our perspective to view neighborhoods and communities as Jesus did, revolutionizing ministry and outreach. Using Scripture, we'll see how Christ's compassionate gaze reveals both deep needs and unique opportunities to share His love.
 

Session Two - All Generations Matter- Dr. Al Curley, III

There are multiple generations attending our churches, they all have value, and unique needs and perspectives on life. This session will challenge us to embrace and engage every generation especially Millennials and Gen Z according to their uniqueness.
 

Special Young Adult Session - In this semi-structured group interview session, young adults (ages 18-38) will provide essential insight into the values, needs, and life perspectives of Millennials and Gen Z. This information will be crucial for developing effective strategies to minister to and engage these future generations.
 

These breakout sessions are designed to equip the attendees as well as allowing them to engage in focused dialogue around the topic. They will run concurrently. 
 

1. Sharing the Gospel & Defending Your Faith in the New Normal (Post-Pandemic) - Rev. Bobby Hicks, Jr., Church Health Strategist, Texas Baptists Center for Church Health 
   
   Things are not the same after a global pandemic. This includes small towns and communities.  But one thing has not changed, the need to share the Gospel. In this session, the facilitator will challenge you to be intentional about sharing the Gospel, defend your faith, and offer practical ways to do so in a post-pandemic world.  
    
2. Creating a Culture of Discipleship – Dr. Darrin Moore, Pastor, Truevine Baptist Church - Spring, TX
   
   Move beyond Sunday services to intentionally make and multiply disciples. This session provides practical frameworks for shifting from programs to relationships, creating clear pathways that grow believers into disciple-makers.
    
3. Mobilizing Women for Missions - Rev. Tamiko Jones, WMUTX - Executive Director/Treasurer 
   
   God has given women the privilege, ability, and responsibility to be students and ministers of His Word for the building up of His church. This breakout will discuss how we might mobilize women of all ages from ministry and missions. 
    
4. Shaping Your Heart for God - Dr. Maurice McMillion, Pastor, Faith Baptist Church
   
   God calls for a transformed heart and renewed mind. In this session, the facilitator will offer practical ways we can shape our hearts for God through spiritual disciplines. 
    
5. Being a House of Prayer - Rev Sedrick Moore, Pastor, St Paul Baptist Church Jacksonville
   
   Jesus says, "My house shall be called a house of prayer" (Matthew 21:13), which implies that prayer is essential to the local church. The facilitator will share best practices to integrate prayer into your congregation's DNA, unleashing the Holy Spirit's power for spiritual renewal and evangelism.
    
6. Faith and Finance - Dr. Jim Graham, STCH Ministries
   
   How we manage the resources God provides us is important to Him. In this session, we will share principles and practices of faithful stewardship that allows a person to be financially sound.
