Everlasting Choir Celebration is an opportunity for Boomer and senior adult choirs to come together for rehearsal with a qualified choral director, encouragement and networking with others. Each choir is invited to participate in the Parade of Choirs which offers a chance to sing prepared worship music for the entire group. The festival ends with a worship service using the rehearsed music from the event.

Paul Magyar is a native of St. Louis, Missouri, but spent most of his upbringing years in Colombia, South America where his parents were career International Mission Board media missionaries. Following his freshman year at Oklahoma Baptist University, Paul sensed God was calling him to serve churches in music/worship ministry. Ultimately, that call, and his desire to offer his best to God led him to complete three degrees in music and worship, including the doctor of musical arts degree in choral conducting at Louisiana State University. Paul was a professional church musician/worship pastor for nearly 40 years, serving congregations in Oklahoma, Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, and Tennessee. In October 2018, he joined the staff of First Baptist Richardson, Texas, where he is Pastor to Senior Adults. Dr. Magyar has taught courses in choral music/conducting, worship, music history and music ministry at Lipscomb University, Houston Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Paul met and married his sweetheart, Mary, also a musician, while they were students at Southwestern Seminary. Mary and Paul have two grown children, Stephen, married to Linnae, and Anna, and one grandchild, Micah.
