How can we respond to loved ones who are deconstructing their faith? How can we discern if they are truly seeking truth or seeking their own preferences? In this session, Alisa will talk about how to spot the signs of deconstruction and highlight some practical steps we can take to navigate relationships with those who are going through it.
Christians often think there’s something wrong about questioning or even doubting their faith. In this session, we’ll see that asking the big questions is not an option for disciples of Jesus even if we experience some doubts. We need to lean into these doubts in order to find truth, knowledge and even greater faith.
A movement called ‘deconstruction’ is sweeping through our churches and it is affecting our loved ones. It has disrupted, dismantled, and destroyed the faith of so many. For some, it leads to a custom-made spirituality. For others, deconstructing their faith leads them away from the truth into agnosticism, atheism, the occult, or humanism. In this talk, Tim will help you understand what deconstruction is, where it comes from, why it is compelling to some, and how it disorients the lives of so many. You will be able to think through the main issues around faith deconstruction and explore wise and loving ways to respond from a biblical worldview.
There are three dominant strongholds (i.e. worldviews) that permeate our culture and hinder people from coming to a salvific knowledge of God. In this session, you will learn what they are, how to identify them, and how to respond accordingly.
Founded on the resurrection of Jesus, Christianity is a religion of miracles. Yet science is commonly thought to undermine belief in the miraculous. Why?
One of the great dangers facing the Church is pornography. In fact, this generation has been more affected by pornography than any other generation in history. In this talk, Tim shows how acceptability, accessibility, affordability, and anonymity have helped pornography thrive in this generation. Furthermore, Tim looks at the effect pornography has on the individual, relationships, and society. Finally, Tim gives practical steps to fighting back against pornography.
This session will highlight how the Biblical worldview of the Christian Faith is not at odds with science but rather provides the best intellectual motivation and ethical framework for the study and practice of good science. It will also explore the dangers of the absence of a Biblical worldview in science, and how this has led to bad science in the case of eugenics and "scientific" racism.
In this talk, Alisa will walk the audience through the history, key beliefs, and key figures of the movement of progressive Christianity, and ultimately show how progressive Christianity is at odds with historic Christianity and even disagrees with Jesus on what The Bible is, what Jesus accomplished on the cross, and the definition of the gospel.
