Texas Baptists value Christian higher education. Several scholarship opportunities are available to Texas Baptists studying at Texas Baptists partner institutions.
The Roy and Inez Cotton Music and Arts Scholarship provides financial assistance to students who exhibit excellence in the classroom and possess a desire and passion for music and arts. These students embody the heart of the Cotton family, who have for decades been a staple in the worldwide music and arts community. It will provide financial assistance for students who demonstrate a need for financial support, looking to continue their pursuit of a career in music and arts at any college or university.
The scholarship will be awarded annually in the amount of $500.00 per semester to a full-time student who is seeking to pursue a career in Music or the arts. The scholarship must be used for tuition, room and board, books and fees. The applicant must or will be enrolled full time in the next academic year at any college or university.
Every year, Texas Baptists Hispanic Education raises funds for scholarships through the Hispanic Education Banquet and appeals to individuals and organizations. Because of these funds, we are able to award scholarships to eligible students that apply and go through a selection process. In recognition of the divine call felt by those who minister, Texas Baptists churches provide Ministerial Financial Assistance to eligible students called to full-time vocational church ministry and enrolled in a ministry-related degree program in a Texas Baptists university/seminary. Eligible students must be active members of a cooperating Texas Baptists church, with a clear calling to career vocational Christian ministry affirmed by her/his church. Various levels of assistance are available to students enrolled in accredited undergraduate, graduate and post-graduate programs that have been endorsed by the convention. Application for all Texas Baptists ministerial financial assistance is made in partnership with the financial aid office of affiliated Texas Baptists universities and seminaries.
The Mary Hill Davis Ethnic/Minority Scholarship Program provides grants to help worthy, capable young people from ethnic/minority cultures receive a Christian education. The scholarship program is designed to assist students pursuing a bachelor’s degree at a Texas Baptists partner university.
Prestidge Endowment Music & Worship Scholarship is awarded annually to a student preparing for full-time music and worship ministry at a Baptists university.
The scholarship will be presented annually in the amount of $2,500 to a full-time student (12 credit hours or more) who is preparing for full-time ministry in church music and worship. This scholarship may be used for tuition, room and board, books and fees. The applicant must be currently enrolled or will be enrolled in the next academic year at a Baptist university. First consideration will be given to applicants who will be attending a Texas Baptists University. A recipient can receive the award more than once but must apply every year.
