HOUSTON—On Feb. 21-23, the Texas Baptists Hispanic Evangelism Team and Asociacion Bautista Latino Americana (ABLA) will join together to host a Hispanic Evangelism Conference (HEC). The conference, which will be held at Spring Woods Baptist Church in Houston, is part of a series of evangelism conferences being hosted by the Hispanic Evangelism Team, a component of the Great Commission Team, across Texas.

This Conferencia de Evangelismo will focus on the theme “Modelando la Gran Comision” (Modeling the Great Commission). Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in general sessions as well as small breakout sessions designed to address more specific issues. Keynote speakers include Samuel Otero, evangelist and founder of the Samuel Otero Evangelistic Association, and Bulmaro, executive director of ABLA. Breakout sessions will focus on equipping attendees with specific evangelism tools and techniques. There will also be breakout sessions for pastors seeking to increase evangelistic opportunities within their churches.

In addition to Texas Baptists and ABLA, a number of church leaders have been involved in bringing the conference to fruition. For Victor Rodriguez, evangelism associate and discipleship specialist with Texas Baptists’ Hispanic Evangelism Team, the collaboration shows how passionate people are to learn more about evangelism.

“What excites me about this conference is how excited these pastors are. I think it’s important for them to have this hands-on training,” Rodriguez commented.

The conference will be in both English and Spanish, with translation available when needed. Worship will be led by the praise and worship team from Life Church of San Antonio.

During the conference, a Congreso Youth Rally will also take place, which will provide an opportunity for students to participate in a worship event that will feature praise music and two speakers. The youth rally takes place on Saturday, Feb. 22, and is a one-day event designed to get students excited for Congreso, which will take place in April.

The Hispanic Evangelism Conference will be held at Spring Woods Baptist Church, 10131 Emnora Ln, Houston, TX, 77080. No registration is required.
