Texas Baptists welcomes Dustin Payne as the New Church starter for Area 3 in Southeast Texas including Katy, Houston, Galveston, Beaumont and College Station.

Payne received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Houston, followed by his Master of Divinity with a Biblical Studies and Theology Concentration from George W. Truett Theological Seminary at Baylor University. He is fluent in both English and Spanish.

After graduating from seminary in 2015, Payne and his wife helped plant Forum Church in Spring, TX. While serving as Lead Pastor, Payne enrolled in Texas Baptists very first Church Planting Center (CPC) at Tallowood Baptist Church in Houston. He was one of five residents of the CPC over the course of one year, and he gained further experience in strategy development, evangelism and discipleship, preaching and much more.

"Dustin has a practical knowledge of Church Planting through his experiences with Forum Church and graduating from our first Church Planting Center. I am personally excited to see what God will do in Southeast Texas through Dustin Payne," said Paul Atkinson, director of Church Starting.

Moving forward, Payne is excited to be doing what he loves alongside Texas Baptists.

“I really want to see more pastors trained and equipped to do the work for which God has called them,” Payne said. “I hope to help our churches plant more churches that plant even more churches so that we can see Texas filled with people who love and serve Christ.”

Payne will be working with 57 approved churches in helping share God’s Word in Texas.
