A four-person Texans on Mission team is in California working to multiply ministry of churches and chart a long-term relief effort in the area devastated by raging fires.
The September meeting of the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) Executive Board was held Sept. 18-19 in Dallas.
“Sometimes the crowd is wrong,” said Ammons, pastor at First Baptist Church in Garland. “Just because there is a groundswell saying to do this, doesn’t mean it’s right.”

Sunday, June 9 began TBM’s Disaster Relief efforts in the Dallas area after strong storms caused thousands of trees to fall on homes, property and across power lines disrupting electricity for hundreds of thousands of people.
On Sept. 20, Texas Baptist Men Disaster Relief sent their first group of volunteers, including 13 men and women, to Bayboro, North Carolina, in response to damage caused by Hurricane Florence.
