BOUNCE Student Disaster Recovery’s mission is to restore hope, rebuild communities and reflect Christ. In 2019, they will do that by giving students the opportunity to be a part of the continued disaster recovery work for Hurricane Harvey, as well as new efforts to partner with church starts in Texas.
During the Spring Break missions, students will complete various construction projects and home repairs. Spring Break Mission 1 will be from March 10-13 and Spring Break Mission 2 will be from March 13-16. Students and leaders will work in the Golden Triangle Area of Southeast Texas, including Port Arthur, Nederland and Orange.
Summer mission locations are still pending. However, the focus will remain on Harvey affected areas. The dates are as follows:
During Summer Mission 6, BOUNCE is teaming up with Texas Baptists Church Starting for a new missions endeavor.
“We are so excited about this opportunity to engage students in church planting,” said David Scott, director of BOUNCE. “We will pilot this mission in 2019 with hopes of providing other opportunities to mobilize students for this type of BOUNCE experience in 2020.”
BOUNCE students will help the church plants with their various needs, ranging from hosting sports camps and block parties to evangelism. Summer Mission 6 will take place in Dallas from July 23-July 28.
